Thema: "Question game changes"

General Patton, Do, 12.6.14 16:49:18:
The main reason I stopped playing before, was the change that you had to be in a location to build a building. I know this was a good change, but for me it made it not possible to be a decent player at the time. You had to be very available during the early game, and well if you weren't well tough luck.

Heck I used to make about as much as a president as a crime lord, especially when you take into consideration recruitment of units, and the fact you didn't have to defend anything. It made a player the sword for their union.

Klaiber, Do, 12.6.14 17:02:08:

I think the absence of crimes is caused by the change in the points-system. If you hold your country as president instead of criming, you will get points every 6 hours. If you don't, the points will remain in the point-pool. So the points will go to the winner of the round if I'm correct.

Zitat:
I always traded before, and intend to trade again, but with the market opening later, it seems like trading is actually less important, trading was a great way to give you a boost in the beginning.

I don't think so. With the rather small amount of money you get from being a president, trading is a very, very important source of income. Being so powerful, it was decided that the markets will open later due to the huge advantage some good traders like Parefloi got right after the start of the round.
Nemo, Do, 12.6.14 18:09:10:

Whaaaat? You get points every 6 hours and gathering in the hideout doesn't give you less units...
that's crazy, I can't live in this world
Yes, I like the markets being opened later, because a couple of years ago, it all came down to who was the first guy trading and building a tank factory and stuff like this.
So a lot of times, after 1 or 2 days, the round was basically over because you already had a winner
General Patton, Do, 12.6.14 20:24:36:
What are these points, before all that really mattered, was the points from countries at the end of the game?

Nemo, Fr, 13.6.14 9:58:18:

Exactly, so if I would lose all of my countries today, I would still keep the points right?
Generalleutnant Uschi_van_hinten, Fr, 13.6.14 11:35:30:

yes u would
Nemo, Fr, 13.6.14 17:16:36:

okay, thanks a lot.
General Patton, Sa, 14.6.14 17:08:06:
Ok I still don't get it, a lot of these countries you will make tons more with crime than, being a president, whats the big deal of points you gain during the game? isn't it pretty much what you own at the end?

Money= power
Money buys you units
Units give you territory
Lots of territory at the end of the game = you get lots of points

General Qin Shi Huang, Sa, 14.6.14 17:21:41:

It used to be! Now you get points throughout the round, not just at the END of the round! Every time tax comes up, you get points for places you hold.
We can be sure our beloved pope is standing today at the window of the father's house, that he sees us and blesses us.
General Patton, Sa, 14.6.14 17:33:19:
Do you keep those points at the end of the game?

Is the victory condition still holding 95% of the map?

And you ultimately get points on what you hold at the end of the game?

So if you take a lot of territory at the end of the game it ultimately does not give you many points?
